PAKISTAN vs SRI LANKA Live Streaming Match:

Pakistan lost an early wicket as Fakhar Zaman’s struggles continued after they won a toss that was significantly delayed. However, Babar Azam and Abdullah Shafique then put on a 64-run stand for the second wicket that got Pakistan going. That stand was broken with young star spinner Dunith Wellalage dismissing Babar. Shafique has looked steady though, and he eventually got to his maiden ODI half century. The match has been reduced to 45 overs a side. Rain started to pour around 40 minutes before the original scheduled time for toss, which was then rescheduled to take place between 2.45pm and 3pm. It relented and it started to look like we might have a start soon but with just minutes left for the scheduled toss time, it started pouring heavier than ever at the R Premadasa Stadium. With India already in the final, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are fighting for one spot. The equation is simple, whoever wins today’s PAK vs SL match, will book a date with India on Sunday. But if it rains at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo and the match is washed out, Sri Lanka will go through thanks to their higher net run rate. The 228-run loss that Pakistan suffered against India has dented their run rate a lot but there is no shortage of confidence for the No.1-ranked team though.

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Live Score: Babar Azam was off the mark with a boundary.

Despite the rain predictions and a bit of confusion over the nature of the surface, Pakistan announced their playing XI on the eve of the match. They made three changes – two of them forced – to their XI in the must-win match. Mohammad Haris had replaced an out-of-form Fakhar Zaman but Pakistan were then forced to bring him back after Imam-ul-Haq suffered an injury during the match-day. Additionally, Saud Shakeel was also ruled out with fever, with Abdullah Shafique replacing the batter.

As far as Sri Lanka are concerned, they found a new hero in Dunith Wellalage, who almost single-handedly won them the match against India. Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka’s main concern, however, will be the pace attack and the underperforming top-order. Pathum Nissanka and Dimuth Karunaratne have not been at their best in this Asia Cup. In the absence of Lahiru Kumara and Dushmantha Chameera, their pace-attack appears to be pale. It will be interesting to see the nature of the pitch in Colombo. If it is anything like the India match then Sri Lanka will have an advantage due to the quality of spinners they have in their arsenal.
